Lefke – Where History Meets Nature
Lefke is a one-of-a-kind destination, where the majestic peaks of the Troodos Mountains meet the azure waters of the Mediterranean, and fertile plains stretch under the warm sun. This town, framed by breathtaking landscapes, holds a rich historical heritage, while its land generously offers an abundance of fruits and nuts.
With pure mountain spring water nourishing the soil, Lefke has become an agricultural paradise. It is no surprise that this area is known as "The Fruit Basket of Cyprus", producing lush citrus groves, figs, almonds, and walnuts.
During summer, the town comes alive with vibrant festivals. In June, the nearby town of Güzelyurt hosts the Orange Festival, and in July, Lefke celebrates the Walnut Festival, attracting food lovers, farmers, and travelers from across the island.

A Town Rich in History
Lefke is not just a haven for nature enthusiasts, but also a town with deep historical roots. Dating back to the Roman Empire and beyond, it was once a hub for copper and gold mining, fueling its prosperity. Today, its architecture reflects its colonial past, while Ottoman-era mosques and historic houses whisper tales of the past.
Just outside the town lie two great archaeological sites – Soli and the Vouni Palace.
Vouni – A Palace Above the Sea
Perched atop a dramatic cliff, offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, lie the ruins of Vouni Palace. Its walls echo the grandeur of past civilizations, serving as a testament to the region’s rich cultural history.
Lefke is a place where history and nature intertwine, where the land provides its bountiful gifts, and where the ruins of the past stand as a gateway to the present.
