North Cyprus is a safe and disease-free destination

North Cyprus is a safe and disease-free destination, with no vaccination requirements for international travelers.

All visitors are entitled to free emergency medical care at state hospitals, where most doctors speak English. Additionally, all blood banks are HIV-screened, ensuring high medical safety standards.

Many hotels offer medical assistance upon request, while private hospitals and clinics in urban areas accept global health insurance policies.

Pharmacies

Pharmacies, marked with a large red "E" (Ezcane), provide medications for common ailments, including affordable, over-the-counter antibiotics. Most well-known European pharmaceutical brands are available. Outside regular hours, select pharmacies remain open on a rotating basis until past midnight, seven days a week, with schedules displayed on storefronts.

Safety

For medical emergencies, dialing 112 connects you to the appropriate emergency services.

North Cyprus is also renowned for its safety and hospitality, with a very low crime rate.

There is no harassment of women, and the island remains an unspoiled tourist destination, free from the negative experiences reported in some other Mediterranean regions.

The National Police Force is present in all major cities and can be contacted at 155 for emergencies.

If you accidentally enter a military zone, you will be politely escorted out and redirected. Signs stating “No Photography” should always be respected, as should speed limits in restricted areas.
